StraLi is a non-profit association fighting for human rights through the judicial system.

In particular, strategic litigation is an Anglo-Saxon technique that aims to intervene for the protection of rights by promoting individual judicial actions.

Through the individual court case, a violation of a fundamental right or freedom is brought to the attention of a judge. The goal is to change the law by eliminating that violation.

For some time, StraLi has been dealing with the protection of human rights within the structure of the CPR (Permanence Center for Repatriation) in Turin, today considered a ” middle ground ” as regards the legislative conditions and the rights of withheld.

We met many of the ” inmates without crime ‘’, and we learned that frequently the cameras of the guests’ mobile phones are purposely broken upon their entrance.

We have collected interviews directly from individuals who were guests of the structure for varying periods of time; the same people have shown themselves available for the realization of a photographic project.

We have then reproduced big lenses in multilayer glass with corten frames; later, the glasses were broken as are the real cameras of the inmates.

The broken glass, as well as the destroyed lenses of mobile phones, covers the faces of individuals without identity, forgotten by the state and the society that should welcome them.
